Wedding at the King Kamehameha Hotel Ballroom
10/30/13 05:59 PM
This past weekend it was another wedding filled weekend. We were part of Lowen & Kristine’s wedding at the King Kamehameha Hotel. Most of the time we do weddings that take place at the luau ground there. This time we were part of a wedding that took place in one of the ballrooms. It really is a great area for a wedding because you don’t have to worry about the rain. Most people think that it hardly rains in Kona, which it true, it rains less then the Hilo side, but every wedding we have done outside at this venue did have some moments of nice light sprinkles that took place. Waikoloa is the area that you do not need to worry much rain, but Kailua-Kona does have it’s moments. This ballroom did remind me of the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel Moku’ola ballroom in its feel, except it has higher ceilings. Here is how our full room lighting set up looked like.
It’s a very nice ballroom for uplighting due to the tall ceilings. We also used a glass monogram gobo which we did shine on the wall and it looked amazing.
Congrats again to Lowen & Kristine Luta, may there be many happy years to come!

Italian Wine Event
10/01/13 07:27 PM
It was an event that turned out to be a lot of fun. It was the Italian wine tasting event with Kadota Liquors and Hilo Hawaiian Hotel.
Hilo Hawaiian Hotel created Italian style food which pared well with the wine that was featured from Kadota Liquors. Kadota Liquors brought wine from different provinces from Italy. It felt like a tour through Italy through the food and wine which was a great learning event for wine enthusiasts. For this event we provided lighting to enhance the feel of being in Italy. We hung market lights on the ceiling to create that Italy feel and we put uplighting on the side walls and curtains in the Italian flag colors.
Overall this was a very fun event and we are looking to be a part of many more wine tasting events in the future.
