Making It Grand, An Amber Wedding.

The Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel and Spa is one of those venues where no matter what area you use for a wedding, it looks classy. The Hapuna Ballroom is in my opinion, probably the most grand area of all the areas at that hotel. It has a great room size with wood panel walls, mirrors, and sconces to enhance that classy feel. The hotel also provides great food and very, very delicious desserts. It's a great area for those who want that classy wedding feel.

A few weeks ago were a part of the wedding of Chris and Jamie Chong. The reception did take place in the Hapuna Ballroom. Whats great about this ballroom is that not only does it fit many guests, but lighting works well here. Since the walls are wood panel, a darker color or amber works will on these walls. Using amber lighting makes the room look fantastically grand. Here's a look at this ballroom with amber lighting.

The wedding overall was a very elegant experience. Chris and Jamie were also fantastic to work with. They are a local couple that now live in Colorado. It's always nice for a couple to go back to their home town for a weddings. Not only are they surrounded by family from their home town, but their friends that they have made away from home get a nice vacation in Hawaii.

A Wedding Well Choreographed

Choreographed dances can really make a wedding stand out. It can be entertaining, memorable, and give the wedding character. A choreographed dance can be anything from a bridal party, father/daughter dance, mother/son dance, or any other dance that would fit. It does take a little more practice and planning to pull one of these dances off, but the outcome is well worth it. A couple of weeks ago we had a fantastic time working with Johnny & Malia Arelano. A wedding that entertained and brought excitement through choreographed dances.

One of the more fancier looking ballrooms in Waikoloa has to be at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott. The ballrooms at this venue not only look elegant, but also looks great with lighting. We did a teal and white uplighting design for this set up. Teal uplighting around the edges of the ballroom as well as white behind the head table to create contrast as well as draw the in the guests attention to this area.

The head table looked fantastic with floral and decor arrangement by Derek Rillon, drapery by Show Systems Hawaii, and linens by Pele’s Wedding & Events. We did the lighting as well as the custom gobo on the drapes. There was also a Photo Booth by Event Studios Hawaii as well as photography and videos by Ekahi Media and Kai Media.

This wedding turned out to be tons of fun. Not only were the guests in the room energetic and ready for a good time, but there was a bridal party and father-daughter dance that were elaborate and entertaining. This really turned out to a hit and really made this wedding stand out. You can tell a lot of hard work and practice went into these dances. Johnny & Malia were a blast to work with too. Here’s a look back at this wedding with a fantastic video by Kai Media that captured the moments well.
